a great word.

not to steal my number 1's thunder, but a couple of weeks ago i signed up for merriam webster's word o' the day, and i must say, i am quite taken with the word prolix, and i hope to one day use it to describe myself when next extremely inebriated and rambling, repetitively.

"oh, forgive me for being so prolix. i tend to get that way when drunk and upset. or just drunk and talking, really."

PROLiX [proh-LIKS]: (adjective) 1. unduly prolonged or drawn out; toO long. 2. marked by or using an excess of words

use of the word "prolix" during cocktail hour automatically transforms a pbr to champagne. or at least, "the champagne of beers."

proper use of any word containing 2 or more syllables toward the end of cocktail hour is noteworthy, as far as i'm concerned ;o)
